Understanding Mail Blacklists
If your sending IP address lands on a major DNSBL (DNS Blacklist), recipient mail servers will instantly block or bounce your messages. This usually happens due to sudden spikes in spam complaints, dirty email lists, or malware on your server.
How to Resolve Blacklists
Delisting requires a prompt, systematic approach to restore your sender reputation:
- Check Listing Status: Scan your domain or IP using InboxFixer to pinpoint exactly which blocklist (such as Spamhaus, Barracuda, or UCEPROTECT) has flagged you.
- Investigate and Fix: Identify what caused the listing. Clean your email lists, remove inactive subscribers, and ensure no unauthorized scripts are sending emails from your server.
- Submit Request: Visit the official blacklist removal page, fill out the delisting form, and describe the corrective actions you have taken.
Most reputable blocklists will delist your IP within 12 to 24 hours of verifying your request.
